Shades of Color Collection - AVR x MIO ANIMO
A collaboration with Berlin artist Andrea van Reimersdahl and MIO ANIMO.
In Shades of Color, Andrea van Reimersdahl printed selected pieces from the MIO ANIMO collection with abstract shapes.
For both the LIMITED and OPEN EDITIONs of MIO ANIMO, she developed compositions from her repertoire of shapes that underscore the MIO ANIMO design in form and color while simultaneously possessing a radiant quality. They visualize femininity and strength.
The screen printing inks Andrea uses are 100% free of formaldehyde, petrol, and APEO (alkylphenol ethoxylates) and therefore comply with the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 guidelines.
Andrea van Reimersdahl is a Berlin-based painter who specializes in textile works and prints.
Abstract shapes and colors are a way for her to incorporate the female body into her artistic process; they arise from the outlines of the shadow silhouette. She understands painting as images in motion. They can be wearable. With the idea of wearable painting on the human body, she founded the fashion label AVR.
Her career has yielded numerous international projects with designers; for example, she has printed collection pieces for the fashion house Prada and collaborated on costumes for film productions by Warner Brothers. She regularly works with architects to develop art-in-architecture projects, such as curtain and color concepts.
